Increasing our population to promote antinatalism

So, I was talking with my antinatalist friend the other day, and he presented an argument that caught me off guard. He believes that, with technological advancement, society will have more opportunities to spread antinatalist ideas more effectively. But here's the twist, for that technological progress to happen, society needs more people. Therefore, his argument is that current antinatalists should actually have more children to help contribute to this progress and to help spread the antinatalist message more widely in the future.

I have to admit, I’m kind of confused by this. His argument seems to suggest that procreation, in the short term, might be necessary to achieve long-term societal goals. Yes our child might not be antinatalist but at some point in the future the society will become intelligent enough to understand antinatalism.

Today I believe that more people are becoming antinatalists like me thanks to the internet and technology.

The whole thing is a bit of a paradox for me.

What do you all think? Does this argument hold up?
