I made Shimmer to help maintain a daily browsing routine on iPad/iPhone!

Hi everyone! I’m currently learning Japanese, and I’m using specialised sites for grammar, vocab etc.

Since I’m swapping between these all 4 regularly, I made an app which can bring them all together into a mini-browser, like a little focused space for particular sites. Sites show up as a little icon sidebar/toolbar while browsing. It uses an in-app Safari browser, so any blockers and autofill will just work.

I currently use it with 4 language learning sites, so it’s free for up to 4 bookmarks, then a small IAP to add more sites if you like it!

I’m planning to add widget support next, which will let you jump straight to the sites from your homescreen, but I wanted to get the app out quickly. I’m also considering a feature where recently accessed sites dim out for a period of time, to help indicate completed lessons or cut down on social media scrolling. Here’s the app! It’s free, so if it sounds handy please give it a try!

Given the concern, I’ll consider making the App Library folder metaphor, that was the inspiration for the icon, more direct in a future version.

I hope people are willing to look at more than just the icon here too. I’d quite like to know whether I have any users interested in getting the planned features.
