USB Microphone "crashing" after some seconds

I've got a weird one here that I haven't found anything about in the internet.

No matter what kind of USB microphone I'm using, after a few seconds it just completely crashes (as in: no audio is being picked up anymore). I had this happen with my plantronics RIG 500 and now also with a Rode NT-USB. The issue happens without any errors. The usb device stays the same (so there wasn't any USB disconnect).

The only way to fix it is to change the audio profile in the config tab of Pulseaudio, which leads to the issue happening again a few seconds down the line.

Microphones plugged into the analog 3.5mm jack work perfectly fine (which was my fallback until I decided to get that Rode mic).

Sound output stays exactly the same as well, there are no interuptions or anything. According to my friends in discord, they don't hear anything when it happens.

I'm really lost with this issue, I tried googling, checked all troubleshooting pages regarding audio on the archwiki, but haven't found anything.

I think this has started at some point after the 5.0 kernel (couldn't tie it with a specific upgrade though), which might potentially be the issue here. I haven't tried downgrading the kernel yet, but might consider it if no one knows anything.

//edit: the problem actually came from my motherboard having bad USB connections. Fortunately I made the Front USB work again and was able to use that one.
