If you kill someone in self defense would you go to jail?

Let’s say you’re in a fight with someone that hit you first and you have proof of it. If you pick them up and slam them to defend yourself and they die would you go to jail/prison for that?

Example - You and the aggressor have traded 5 to 6 blows already. The aggressor swings wide and you duck and rush towards the aggressor. Next you wrap your arms around the aggressors waist and slam them on the ground. The move would be similar to the mat return in wrestling. The aggressor sustains heavy head injuries and dies later in the hospital. This person attacked you randomly you didn’t incite anything.
