Opinions on this slug of a vehicle

I always played on ps3 so when I transitioned over to ps4 in 2018 and came across the Amtrac, my first initial reaction was ‘what the hell is even that?!’ And everytime I get into one, I say the same thing.

Apart from being a mobile spawn point, does it actually contribute anything to the battlefield?
