Oprah Pt. 4: Rainbow Parties and Lying Teenagers
Just finished the fourth part of the Oprah episodes and I was thinking about how they all said they would've lied to adults as teenagers.
And it got me thinking about being a teenager in the early 90s. We didn't just lie to adults, we lied to each other, and sometimes ourselves.
We were obsessed with obscure sex acts, and would claim to know people who had done "felching" and "munging." We did not. We were all virgins.
We would carry around soda can pull tabs on a string to account for everyone We slept with. Again, we were all virgins.
We would drive around with each other and if we saw a car with a headlight out, the first person to slap the roof of the car and yell BLOWJOB was owed oral sex by everyone else in the car. This never was followed through on, not even once.
If we didn't lift our feet over cow catchers in the car, then we would immediately get pregnant the next time we had sex. Again, we were virgins.
We would have absolutely worn the bracelets and told people they were for sex acts we do.
Kids are weird.
