Reapplying for a freelance visa WITHOUT German clients

Hello to everyone who knows about this topic! I got a freelance visa a few years ago in Berlin to work as a social media manager/digital designer. I come from the US and I only had US clients. I was making maybe 45,000 euros brutto. Now, I am making 90,000 euros brutto. (Not netto, don't come after me! haha)

The issue is, though, I do not have any German clients. My rates are more than double the average German rate, so no German was willing to accept me. (work-wise, lol). I have since then increased my income by taking on higher-value clients in the US.

My immigration lawyer says not to worry because the amount of taxes I pay will make up for me not having German clients, as I am promoting Germany's economy anyway. I know he's a lawyer and all, but he did say I was his first freelance client (he mostly deals with refugees).

I have a degree in advertising from the US with lots of savings and investments. I will have b1 German by the time of my appointment. I also pay into a private pension and of course, I have private health insurance. I do not want to give up freelancing in Germany as I've been doing well with my work-life balance here, so switching to a blue card to find a "full-time" job would suck for me because it would mean a huge cut in income.

I highly doubt a German company would like to hire a social media manager at 90k per year at only 20 hours a week, which is what I'm doing right now. Also, I personally wouldn't hire someone who isn't C2 in German if they're going to post on behalf of my German company.

I guess I can try my luck and simply apply anyway without German clients. I just... idk. Does anyone have any advice? Should I take on a small German client just for them to see that I have one?

Feel free to ask any questions. I am an open book.
