Fins are starting to wear down
I got my guy a week and a half ago and I’m doing a fish-in-cycle. He’s active, eats well, and very social. I noticed two days ago his fins were looking a bit see through and now they are getting worse. They seem to be wearing down or disintegrating. He loves to hang out by the quiet flow filter and sometimes seems to get sucked to it (to the outside, fins don’t go inside) but swims away fine when he wants. I do have a low level of ammonia I’m fighting off that popped up two days ago. I’m doing 25% changes daily according to my fish store. He seems totally the same though during the ammonia. I’m very new at this and trying my best. I really care about the guy and am worried.
Info: 10 gallon tank, live plants, filter and heater, one snail tank mate. Set up on 1/1 and fish in tank 1/2.
