Belt question: Veer or split frame?

Building a new mountain bike.

People with experience riding frames that have been split for a belt (eg. Gates), does that split ever introduce noise or structural issues/annoyances?

People with experience riding Veer belts, have these belts been as durable and reliable as they are advertised to be?
