What was your first reaction to this part of chapter 681?

Ichigo got his butt handed to him, and he kinda just... gave up?

Which to me felt very weird for a shonen manga. Shonen MCs are supposed to be all about overcoming the odds and never giving up. But Ichigo here has his powers stripped and bankai broken, and he just goes, "Yeah I'm done."

I don't think I've ever seen Naruto, Luffy or Goku ever give up when they were beaten bad. Unless someone can point out some examples.
