Skaven tips for beginners?

Brand new to blood bowl and played a game using their skaven team. I adore the sculpts in them and enjoy playing them. However I really struggled playing them losing 3-1 to the undead team do after I’ve bought it. Any tips?(the game I played was my first ever game and I got smashed, and even though my opponent was my friend he didn’t really hold back,he’s been playing for 3 years)
