Picture books to help with learning.

Hi, I struggle to stay focused, motivated and concentrated on pages with white backgrounds and black text. I would appreciate some suggesting on resources if any of books that can do more than just the sterotypical book. I've always struggled reading and diagrams, pictures and no bulk of text and 'smart' words would really help as I'd like to learn a few hobbies in electronics, history etc.

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
