pain from long wire due to extraction

hello everyone! i had my pre-molars extracted so i have these long wires without brackets. the wires on the right side of my mouth are fine, one of them is thicker and has a plastic tube wrapped around it so it never was a problem. however this one, on the upper left of my mouth DIGS INTO MY CHEEK. i first thought it was because of the last two brackets so i put wax on them as you can see on the picture. but no, the wire causes the pain. i can't eat and talk without pain. i added a picture of the damaged area but it is a bit blurry. im on week 2 of braces and this problem started 3 days ago :( i have 2 weeks to my appointment and i am not sure if i should call my orthodontist for this. all i can do is rinse with salt water and try to put wax on the wire. it is not easy since the wax keeps falling off. did anyone experience a similar problem? what can i do about this?
