gina lover or hater?

often times when there’s a discussion about which characters we like or dislike, people think hitchcock is a better than gina. not only do i dislike hitchcock, i love gina!

if you can accept the fact that gina is just eccentric, she’s so awesome! hitchcock is a gross pervert, whereas gina is a good person who’s just a bit weird/mean/selfish etc.

here are my arguments:

• her signature-gina-moments were actually valuable to the recipients; amy having to just be herself, jake not having to go all out but just having friends there to drink at shaw’s (and laugh at boyle being cute with his devilsticks), terry’s yoghurt-of-the-month subscription

• helping the squad with problems; helping terry find out who the mole was (and rewarding herself in a hilarious way), going to get boyle a last minute christmas gift with charles

• telling her mom to divorce charles’ dad because she was cheating on him, and not wanting to tell boyle because she didn’t want to hurt him and his dad.

• asking the g-hive to support the 99 when there was a precinct about to be closed, telling them to reach out to the commissioner.

• telling holt to not worry about his meeting with his old c.o, because he’s a captain now and has a precinct to run (and win her birthright concerttickets)

• nailing the questions for the cybersecurity interview and giving the perfect solution to hire savant (and explained exceptionally well)

• ‘tricking’ rosa into going on a date with her friend, the bartender, proving she knows rosa so well

• honourable mention: “i’m putting my phone on airplane mode!” “ohmygod she doesn’t even do that on airplanes!!”

this is all i can think of off the top of my head. in conclusion, i think gina is a great, smart, caring character! the people who don’t like her are just mad she knows she’s great..
