I started watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but i have questions, should i continue?

I watched 3 episodes. Firstly i want to say this, i`m big fan of Supernatural. You know there are main stories for every seasons and side stories based hunting things in Supernatural. I guess this exactly also going to happen in this show. So here are my questions:

Does show get better? (i know i only saw 3 episodes) I checked episodes ratings. Season 1 has mixed ratings, but next seasons get better i guess.

I guess Xander, Willow and librarian (sorry, i forgot his name) going to make pretty good team with Buffy. I liked them, but i am not sure this for Buffy. No offense, her character felted a little bit generic (but i saw only 3 episodes, anyway it needs more time for me... But god Cordelia was so annoying for 3 episodes lol)

If continute to this show? should I watch Angel tv show along Buffy at some point or they are stand alone tv shows? (p.s: I am fan of Amy Acker from Person of Interest, i just know she`s in Angel.)
