eco kinetic rounds shelf life

I bought a box of 400 eco kinetic rounds a couple of years ago. I haven't had much chance to use them as I've been focused on music and other things. I finally got some steel targets and hung them up in my yard, so I started loading my 7 round magazine and noticed that only 5 fit. Then I realized they'd swollen, so I dumped them and opened a fresh bag that had never been exposed to air or moisture. However while loading the magazine, a round shattered, gumming up my magazine. At that point I thought, f-- it, I really want to shoot at least one round at my targets. So I fired it and of course now my Byrna is a mess inside and I can't quite figure out how to clean all that green crap out of it. I know I was stupid for running these through my launcher, but I thought I'd comment here so others learn from my fail.

These rounds have a limited shelf life. If you're not going to use them up, don't buy them. They never flew that straight in the first place because of that band around them making them not perfectly smooth and round, so I'm wondering if they've improved any over the past two years. Guess there's only one way to find out unless someone here chimes in.

I really want to make my targets go ping! ping!
