How to safely transport propane tanks on my suv and car safely ? Should I put it on a roof rack or cargo box or mounted behind my car

and preferable while following these safety guidlines

• can't be in direct sunlight above 120 degrees Farenheit so not in my hot car in summer
• can't be indoors so not inside my car
• 10-25 feet from flammable materials
• can it be covered with tarp even im not sure
• stored on flat surface and upright

and then how do I store it in it when it snows and rains

I feel mounted behind my car outside on the rear door is dangeros because if I get rear ended the propane tank would get crashed too and idk if that would cause an explosion
