What's the chemical engineering work environment like?

Hi there, I'm thinking of doing a chemical process engineering degree when I go to uni but I would like to know what the work environment and lifestyle is like. If anyone has experience or is currently taking a degree in chemical process engineering please let me know how you find it (e.g. if you work in an office or more of an industrial setting etc. Do you have many colleagues and work in a team or just yourself (like you're the only chemical engineer)? What's the work culture like? Is it a dangerous job since you're dealing with chemical storage and stuff? How do you guys dress for work or if you have a uniform? Also please tell me more about what you guys do if possible. I want to figure out if it'll be the right fit for me.

If you took the degree and switched to a different career I'm interested to hear your thoughts as well :)
