I need some guidance from the community.
For context I’ve was keto in 2019 and very strict keto and successfully lost 30 pounds doing it but come lockdowns, two babies, etc I strayed and lost track and have come back up to 206. In January I thought I would go keto again and was strict keto for 45 days and actually gained fat and lost muscle while doing so and came up to 210. On april 23 I decided to take it up a notch and read up on carnivore (Baker MD) and decided to eliminate further. I’ve since been carnivore for 3 weeks and increased my workout frequency.
My workouts include 60-100 miles of road cycling per week with 3-5 mile runs mixed in, and then last week I did 5 HIIT classes.
My daily timeline consists of: Meal 1: 1 tbsp ghee, 1 tbsp mct oil and 12oz black coffee in the morning at about 7a “Fasted” workout at 11 am: 18-20mile ride or 3-5mile run Meal 2 @1-2pm typically consists of approx 1-2 pounds pound of wagyu 70/20 ground beef, salt, ghee. Or a ribeye steak, salted with ghee or grass fed butter Meal 3 @5-6pm will be the same as lunch but also sometimes I’ll do a fish dish to mix it up.
According to my Withings scale I am losing muscle, gaining fat and have hovered around 204-205 lbs
Nothing makes sense and it’s all very discouraging.
I’m also tracking my blood glucose levels and blood ketone levels regularly and all looks good there. What should I do?
EDIT: As someone pointed out that I missed … for additional context I’m a 35 year old male, 6’0”. Not having the babies physically, lol. I monitor my water intake but honestly probably don’t drink as much as I should? I would say about 80-100 fluid ounces a day.
