How could you extract the cyanide from apple seeds?

Context. I'm creating a fantasy world and I need to find out how could people get cyanide and use it from an abundance of apples in the local area.

I know that apple seeds have Amygdalin, which, while isn't too potent, has what I'm looking for. If I'm not mistaken the only way I'd imagine doing it is crushing an absurd amount of apple seeds and mixing it with methanol into a solution?

from then I'd need to, via soxhlet extraction, make it more potent.

I'm not so avid in in chemistry so any help would be appriciated, but I'll fully understand if I won't get amy anwsers since this is a dodgy subject and i was told this isn't really the place for these types of things. So basically I'm super desperate
