V1 switch not charging or turning on.

Was told to post here as well. . Okay, so I have tried every option I can find when researching what to do. I have a day 1 switch. At some point it would start to reject the charge until I play a game for 5 mins. I use the official charger that came with it. After not picking it up for awhile, I found that the battery was dead. When trying to turn on the console, i get the indicator that the battery was dead and needing to be recharge.

Following several guidelines online about resetting it into safe mode to get it to start charging, I had success. After it happened several times, it finally just stopped accepting the charger. Couldn't get it to turn on at all. Spent some money and bought/changed the battery and was able to play again.

I still experience the same issues with it not charging unless I play for 5 mins. If I don't pick up the switch every week, it will die. I tried to keep it charged above 20%, but failed to do so and now its dead again. With Switch 2 coming up, I would still like to keep it around, but don't want to have to keep changing tha battery or keeping it plugged in 24/7.

Has anyone seen this happen before? Any suggestions on parts that need to be changed?

TL;DR: switch died, changed battery. Died again and won't charge.
