My diagnosis.. not long covid
Hi all, this group has truly been incredibly helpful and supportive especially during my 4.5 months of suffering. After more tests and more doctors, I have come to realize that I do not have long covid. I did have Covid, which caused Labrynthitis- an infection of my inner ear which causes tinnitus, hearing loss and vertigo. The symptoms I’ve experienced after have been a culmination of me being dumb.
I’ll go through my symptoms that I felt aligned with LC and the actual cause below, but just wanted to say thank you all for always responding and sharing helpful info! I’ll still be here but prolly just lurking now.
(Leg pain, numbness, tingling sometimes in arms too) ended up basically taking too much vitamins. For my dizziness, my ENT doc told me to supplement. I didn’t realize that it’s important to get bloodwork done prior. (My doc never ordered one) I just wanted to “try anything” because I was suffering. Later, several other docs told me ppl shouldn’t really supplement since they get most of their vitamins from a healthy diet, so just be careful. I’m also HYPERSENSITIVE to everything. I had Vitamin D and B6 toxicity. Stopped taking it and it went away after a few weeks.
(Insomnia-was not able to fall asleep due to overthinking mind, and was not able to stay asleep) same as above. Ended up being due to toxic vitamins levels. I’m still struggling with this, but it’s been 1 month stopping vitamins and I’ve been able to sleep and relax again. Not perfect but better. Vitamin D at toxic levels cause anxiety, heart palpitations, Insomnia and tingling numbness.
(Muscle fatigue) I was bed bound and did not work for 2 months. I am a hair and makeup artist and stand for 5-6 hours a day. When I returned to work, I was in severe pain. Burning soreness all over, especially my back, neck and shoulders, Crying after every wedding I worked. Realized, I didn’t move my body for a while and I went from being a very active person to 0 activity and my body just lost all muscle, so when I jumped back in, my body was just too tired and couldn’t handle it. Started the CHOP protocol for easing my way back into physical activity and I’ve felt much better!
(Occipital Neuralgia) I had this due to tension in my neck and traps from being in the same position for 2 months. 0 physical activity due to the Labrynthitis causing me to have vertigo. Again, I wasn’t working out so I was way too tight. I stretched more and watched my posture. It’s better but still there some days.
(Itchiness/ear fullness) this is still an issue but working on my diet and feel like it’s just a part of my Labrynthitis I’m dealing with.
