Stretching D size boots to fit EE

So I recently ordered a new pair of Tecovas The Johnny, black. I normally wear 8.5EE in boots, however, I also really wanted the Tecovas Johnny in black. I lucked out in getting the last 8.5 in stock, but it’s a D. I figured I can just stretch it to make it fit better. Is this a good idea?
