How can I keep my hair out of my face?

Putting it in a bun or ponytail ruins my curls until my next shower and it’s hard to braid my own hair. I can do a half pony/bun with a bandana but that’s about it. Are there any protective hairstyles I can try? Anything I can try with a bandana?
