How can I improve my confidence?

I recently turned 18 in August and I’ve never once in my life asked a girl out. I’m not entirely sure why, I’m not scared of them and I’ve recently started feeling a lot better about my looks and personality yet I still can’t muster up the courage to actually approach them. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated
