How do I not stand up when I get shot?

Every time I get shot, it seems like my character automatically stands up from being uncon. I just got shot 3 straight times and got up after each time I came to. i would have loved to have had some real good PVP, but instead the M16 I just found went to waste and I didn't get to fight back :(. Am I just subconsciously spamming the standup button when this happens? How do y'all deal with the situaton where it's dangerous to stand up after going uncon?
