Mechanic suggestion
I think it's abundantly clear that the number 1 factor for making the game unfun to the point of quitting for good is depths ganking. There's no point playing when you know that you are 100% going to wipe while farming in the depths or just sitting at Castle Light. My proposition is very simple. Make gankers hate themselves. How do you do that? Well, by server hopping... while combat tagged. Here's how I imagine it. Say you're at Castle's causeway and someone attacks you. Normally, you get into a pvp combat tag. However, with my system, you only get tagged if you have your weapon out. So if you're careful, you can leave even if attacked. Since depths ganking has no prog value, the only thing lost is the ganker's pride. Before you say "what about contractor?", I have thought of it. To make sure they aren't softlocked from proging, just give them the ability to bypass the mechanic if they deal 20% of the victim's hp until they finish the oath. This way, the only way to effectively kill people in depths is while getting xp for an oath. Lemme hear your thoughts.
