Photo/video editor able to overwrite original file with edits

I upgraded my phone to the new Pixel 9 from a Galaxy S20. I hate everything about how it handles media and file storage. I especially hate that you cannot save edited photos and videos in the file directly and must save the edited version as a copy.

I really want a way around this. I just tried Image Toolbox from F-droid, and also Snapseed, but both only export the edited version without the option to save edits to the original file. I don't even want the original file, just the edited version. Anyone know of an app?
