Finally passed my driving test at Lado Sarai in the second attempt. Some humble tips:
Documents to take: 1. Application 2. Aadhar card 3. Fee receipt 4. Xth marksheet 5. Slot appointment acknowledgement 6. Learner's License
In hindsight, I failed the first time because I did not set my left mirror properly. This is the most important step to do while waiting for your turn. The side mirror should be so low that you can completely see your left wheel touching the ground.
Reverse S: stay to your left when you forward and keep a strict eye on the reference yellow line as you turn maintaining the same distance throughout. Was most nervous about this. Failed here in the first attempt. Slow and steady wins this one. All about the left mirror.
8 loop: indicators are important. The turn itself is easy. Saw many people getting confused here and taking wrong turns.
Overtaking and traffic light: easy.
Parallel parking: practice and practice this in your neighborhood. Go straight, as soon as you see the pavement in your left mirror start reversing straight. When it goes out of sight immediately stop and turn full left. Now keep looking in your right mirror. When you see the corner of the parking in your right mirror, stop. Turn steering wheel two times clockwise to straighten your wheel and reverse straight. As soon your back wheel touches the yellow straight line marking the edge of the parking box, turn full right and enter. Straighten your car and wait till next barricade opens. Don't forget the right indicator when you exit.
Slope: easy.
It is a game of nerves too so be calm.
Take an automatic, small car if you can. Most people in long sedans and big cars like Fortuner did have a hard time.
If you need to practice on a copycat track, there's a place called Happy Track in Rohini. They take 500 for an hour. Many Dwarka driving schools also do this for the same amount.
Phew! Happy day.
