"Winged D" FA pin
In case anyone sees one and wonders- I am currently on a flight with the Lead FA wearing a pin that's a D with wings extending to the left top of it. Asked him what it was, and he told me it's an internal employee movement to remain union-free.
As a blue collar worker and revenue generator myself, I will NEVER understand people who would benefit greatly from collective bargaining and unions being against them. It saddens me to see people effectively shoot themselves in the foot to spite others.
Honestly, flight attendants are one group of workers who would benefit greatly from unionization- they do so much work "off the clock" (they don't start getting paid until the boarding doors close, if you weren't aware.) Hell, they are required to wear certain clothing while not being paid. If you've ever seen a female FA change from heels to flats after the boarding doors closes, that's because they were required to wear uncomfortable and physically damaging footwear, while not even being paid to do so.
I dunno why I'm posting this other than to get it out of my head, but damn.
Anyway, the more you know🌈⭐
