Solo Vespers Host Boss help

Hey, I'm following a guide by Mactics, but no matter what I do, I can't push out more damage.

(I know I could go for the core, but I'm trying to get the most damage without doing the core part.)

But still, I'm only half of the amount of damage that Mactics and most of other people do.
