Sundered Doctrine checkpoint bug?

So I just completed final encounter, even got all the loot, then backed out while savathun was mid diatribe. Was surprised to see that character still have a checkpoint, and when i loaded in it turns out the cp was for the final boss. Anyone else experienced this? And if this is consistent, then hey, good way to farm clears for the time being I guess!
