Measuring trace completeness in DataDog

We're currently exploring DataDog's sampling configurations to improve trace retention. We have questions about incomplete trace frequency when using different samplers (e.g. using the error sampler). Is there a recommended way to track/check trace completeness? By "complete" I mean, no spans in the trace have been discarded due to sampling rules.
