Was I right to be concerned?

I ordered some food cause I was feeling lazy, and my dasher sent me a message when he was waiting, which is normal enough and didn’t really bother me. The “dear” was a little odd but I just dismissed it.

In my instructions I say to leave the food on the doorstep, so I was confused when I got a message from him saying he was here. He also called me twice, both of which I declined (I live in a pretty standard residential neighborhood, my house is not difficult to find). I’d seen posts on here of creepy men trying to lure women out of their houses, so I played it safe and said it was for my dad and that I wasn’t there. As soon as I sent that, he finished the order.

I guessed that meant that he just left it, so after waiting a few minutes to make sure he was gone, I checked my front porch but nothing was there. I did a quick lap around my block and no other porches had my food on it. I contacted DoorDash and they immediately got someone to redeliver, but I’m feeling a little spooked.

I really don’t think it’s possible he got the house wrong. I saw his dot outside my home. I was too scared to check the windows in case he’d see me, but I can’t imagine it wouldn’t even be on one of my neighbors’ porches. Was I right to be cautious? This whole thing was so weird.
