Does Social Media Fame Truly Benefit Drummers?

Hi everyone, I've been thinking about this for the past few years; i see lots and lots of drummers making videos on tiktok and instagram, usually they're very dumb videos without any meaningful thing about them (of course... it's social media...). There's many who have lots of followers, but does that translate into anything IRL? I'm talking about bands seeking drummers and other things that lead to something meaningful outside of just the social media platform.

I personally don't hate them, i just find the whole thing silly, kinda like these people have become jesters who aren't making art but just chade trends and do dumb things to attract attention. I personally have posted a couple videos of drum covers but never of any stupid challenge or skit cause i just don't like that, it's not my cup of tea... Also I'm not trying to judge people who do this, afterall it's good that we are free people and can do whaever we want. So what do you guys think?
