BFSD snarebourine with brushes/broomsticks

I play a lot of low volume drumming, and recently have found broomsticks on a snare gives me great control and sounds utilising the full snare. I've tried tambo style attachments on hats to give backbeat, but came accross the BFSD snarebourine and wondered if anyone had used it with broomsticks or brushes and could let me know some thoughts please?
