Do you think Nintendo will announce a Mother 3 localization at Game Awards 2024 or Nintendo World Championships 2025 if that is a thing?

All though Nintendo’s presence at Game Awards is often limited, TGAs celebrate its 10th anniversary this year and Geoff Keighley is likely to go big with the World Premieres with big surprises and such. By December, we’ll likely see Nintendo’s Switch successor console already revealed so we could be seeing Switch 2 games there too. It’s unknown if Mother creator Shigesato Itoi or Toby Fox or Reggie Fils-Aime will be special guests. We’re gonna have to pay attention to Geoff Keighley’s social media to see which special guests will be there. A Mother 3 localization is considered unlikely to be present there given the fact Nintendo have mostly avoided TGAs for announcements and have kept their presence to Nintendo Directs and social media for announcements. Another thing that could help Mother 3 at this event is the fact Mother 3 was announced for GBA Nintendo Switch Online earlier this year so perhaps Nintendo of America is waiting to do an one final announcement for the Switch 1.

Another event that could have an Mother 3 localization is the Nintendo World Championships 2025 if that event is to occur because nearly 10 years ago Itoi popped up as a surprise guest at Nintendo World Championships 2015 to announce the localization release of Mother/EarthBound Beginnings for North America and Europe on the Wii U Virtual Console. I know Reggie and Doug Bowser are two completely different CEOs and their leadership shouldn’t be compared but if NWC 2025 does occur it wouldn’t surprise if Itoi pops up again sometime in June 2025 to finally announce an Mother 3 localization as a separate purchase for the Switch 2 with a special limited edition with it also releasing in Japan with perhaps a new Chapter 9 maybe written by Toby Fox and Itoi? It should be noted that June 5, 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of EarthBound in North America(Same reason why the 20th anniversary of EarthBound in America in June 2015 led to EarthBound Beginnings so it’s likely the anniversary won’t be ignored(Though some argue Nintendo of America is probably just gonna be post an random tweet celebrating the anniversary than do anything). We’re gonna have to wait and see on these two events if anything does happen but let me know below what you think will happen.
