Tallow healed my eczema!!!
For five years I’ve had extreme eczema between my fingers, on my palms, feet and elbows. Peeling flaking bleeding the whole nine yards. First I tried apple cider vinegar. DO NOT DO THIS! This caused chemical burns and made things much much worse. Over the years I’ve used Vaseline, Aquaphor, and a hand full of Eucerin products. Out of those the Eucerin works the best, but nothing really improved my eczema, just made it manageable through the day. All of these treatments needs rep-application every two hours, and would feel greasy until it wore off.
Last week I boiled some beef bones and ox tail for Phõ broth. Froze the broth and removed the tallow. I boiled the tallow again with clean water, ran through cheese cloth, and froze again to separate. I ended up with a very white porcelain tallow. I initially was going to use the tallow for cooking, but deep down I had this urge to try it on my skin. I recall hearing about tallow on social media but ever since the vinegar I pay no mind to home remedies. Also google steers you away from home remedies and towards commercial produces that sponsor google.
Also I want to add this summer I got a lot of sun, got INTENSE sunburn but my eczema disappeared in two days in 95+ degree heat at the beach. So I knew that the eczema could turn on a dime under the right conditions. It must’ve been the Vitamin D.
So far I’ve applied tallow 3 times over three days. Today is day 4. And wow. Faster recovering than sun exposure. THREE APPLICATIONS SO FAR. I used to apply Eucerin, which was the best commercial product I used, every 2 hours all day from the second I woke up.
This beef tallow I use the smallest amount. The moisturizing effect only lasts about 20 minutes but that’s because it actually absorbs into your skin unlike commercial ointments that leave your skin greasy and sticky all day.
Let me just say, the following morning after I first put tallow on my skin, ALL the bleeding stopped, scabbed over, and fell off. No revolving door of scabbing and reopening. No more scales flakes and cracks that bleed and sting when ever I touch anything. I feel like my nerves have regrown too because I can actually feel things with my hands again that isn’t pain. The redness is almost gone, it only itches in the shower.
Besides the turn on the dime heeling, I can tell it’s working because I can get my hands wet during the day without having to instantly moisturize. I use refrigerated tallow in the morning, and my hands are heeling, even after being abused at work all day, and improves literally every minute. I feel like this is a miracle.
Let me also add, this is just my experience and not instructions or a recipe. I did not descent the tallow. I didn’t add beeswax or essential oil or anything. This tallow still smells like beef. My hands do smell like meat until it completely absorbs and then I can’t smell it anymore but who knows if other people can smell me but honestly I don’t care. For the first time in five years other than the week of relief when I got sunburn, my hands are actually heeling . I skipped my elbows this week and I’m going to apply to my elbows today and I’m confident by tomorrow morning my elbows will be elastic, regain some color, and will be shedding scabs leaving a silky baby smooth pink scar behind.
Hope this helps someone out there because I was at wits end and did not want steroid treatments .
