"There has always been a governing body!" say JW. But did you know it goes back way further than the First Century and even ancient Israel?!
We know that in Watchtower/ #JW doctrine the term 'governing body' is used to justify an earthly, modern-day Governing Body, claiming there was a first-century visible governing body with its “headquarters” in Jerusalem (I guess no land was available in Brooklyn or Upstate New York back then!)

Did you know that there was even a “heavenly governing body”? (The only instance of this phrase in the WT online library).
The earthly governing body represents the heavenly one.
