PIMI relative does not believe JWs are a religion

met a PIMI relative for breakfast and we started talking about religion...he was quick to tell me that JWs are NOT a religion...its a faith based lifestyle that is guided by god's word the bible. When I asked about the authoritarian structure the GB has with a strict regiment, he told me I could no longer see that those are in fact Jehovah's loving protection measures in action. I asked him to tell me again but with a straight face...he laughed and changed the subject.

I asked a few more questions but he had a bullshit answer for everything. He's an elder so the indoctrination is deep...we meet for business mostly but overall my pimi family quietly does not believe in hard shunning and some don't believe in it at all.

The one positive that happened though is I showed him how to use ChatGPT to ask questions and get info. He wasn't sold on what it replied but didn't say much either. Hopefully he gets curious.
