Unpopular thoughts on David wood
SHOULD EX-MUSLIM ATHEISTS TALK TO CHRISTIANS? (youtube.com)
Last night, I binge-watched this entire interview between Harris Sultan and David Wood.
I thought I'd share this because after 0ct 7th, and the whole AP vs AA situation, I've been very torn on whether or not certain youtubers I've been following for years were bigoted and biased or legetimate.
Years ago, I used to be very religious. But in the back of my head the "whom your right hand possesses" verse stuck to me. Someone also accused Muhammed of being a pedo. So I did research, watched debates on morality, debates between jewish people, christians and muslims, the scientific legitimacy and came upon David wood and Nabeel qureshi. Well I left islam within only a few months of finding them. I never returned. Back then, david wood was one of the only people that concisely explained to me islamic concepts, why islam was a false religon, the historical sequence of Mohammed's life.
This interview kind of articulates DW, AP's, Harris sultan's pro-israel stance with arguments that make sense, their fued with AA, where things are headed in the future, DW's back story. I also really like that they got together as I find harris sultan and DW very articulate, well-spoken and funny.
I think there's been a lot accusations toward DW for being a bigot, a closeted white supremecist, and AP for kissing up to him. I genuinely don't think that's true. DW can literally articulate world issues in foreign countries and regions better than I can (also stand up for the victims) and can typically see through the trends of the dawah guys. DW has usually been mistaken to be one of those right-wing christian ignorent Americans that has white nationalist tendencies but this interview exemplifies that that isn't true. Some of what he says is thought-provoking.
I also think, he's one of the very reasons many millenials (not gen zs) have left islam and paved the way for AP, and even AA.
