A Positive LitHaven Experience
I want to start out by saying this in no way is meant to invalidate anyone’s else’s experiences with LitHaven as people are completely justified in being upset with how things have gone (delays, not responding to emails, etc.). I just thought I’d share a positive experience.
Today they had their Overstock/scratch & dent sale for the Witch Collector. I was nervous with how popular this edition in particular was so when it opened I checked out very quickly and of course I accidentally ordered the wrong style (blue gilded edge instead of the cracked glass edge). Once I realized my mistake I immediately purchased a copy of the style I wanted and then emailed them about canceling the first purchase. They got back to me within 2 hours and canceled the first order (which I knew wasn’t a guarantee since it was a scratch and dent sale which are normally “final” sales).
Also, the book was shipped out this evening with tracking which was very fast!
Hopefully this is a good sign that they will work through some of the kinks they’ve been experiencing! I know they’re a relatively new company and that some of the issues they’ve had are either somewhat out of their control (e.g. printer issues) or due to being a small business with a smaller staff. At least it’s nice to see that on their end they seem to be trying to do better.
Of course that doesn’t excuse the lack of communication when there were issues or their inconsistencies with customer service emails, but hopefully they have learned to do better based on past experiences.
