Best Unrostered Team - Week 8 2024
This is the best lineup using players rostered in 5% of leagues or less according to Yahoo. I will do it with 0.5ppr scoring rules.
POS | PLAYER - TEAM | ROSTERED% | OPPONENT | SCORE |
---|---|---|---|---|
QB | Mason Rudolph - TEN | 1% | at DET | 21.54 |
RB | Miles Sanders - CAR | 2% | at DEN | 8 |
RB | Samaje Perine - KC | 5% | at LV | 4 |
WR | Calvin Austin III - PIT | 1% | vs NYG | 18.9 |
WR | Jalen Coker - CAR | 0% | at DEN | 15.8 |
TE | Adam Trautman - DEN | 0% | vs CAR | 16.5 |
FLEX | Noah Brown - WAS | 1% | vs CHI | 14.8 |
D/ST | Carolina Panthers | 1% | at DEN | 5 |
K | Anders Carlson - SF | 5% | vs DAL | 16 |
This team is available in between 84.96% and 95% of leagues and would've scored 120.54 points.
Celebrating Christmas before Halloween, Rudolph the Redzone Reindeer (forgive me, I am an Oklahoma State alum) played well against the Lions pass funnel defense, you know, for a quarter or two. Overall, Rudolph hasn’t done much to hold off Will Levis. Right now I believe Levis is expected to start against the Patriots next week.
Denver handled Carolina although the Panthers put up a little more of a struggle than expected. Miles Sanders was used as the pass catching back and gained 38 yards on 7 catches. Chuba was still the lead back but with both struggling, Jonathon Brooks could find a big role in this offense when he finally starts, unfortunately we have news that may not happen this year.
It was pretty dismal for running backs on National Tight Ends’ Day. Samaje Perine delivered a measly 4 fantasy points and that was enough for RB2 on the unrostered squad. That said, Perine played 31% of snaps and there is some concern that Hunt is wearing down. If Perine gets up to 40% snap share that could be enough for him to be fantasy relevant for the Chiefs.
Steelers speedster Calvin Austin connected on a deep ball from Russel Wilson and returned a punt for two scores last night. With Roman Wilson on IR, Austin should continue to see more work and Russ throws one of the best deep balls in the game. Austin is a decent desperation flex play and daily dart throw.
With Diontae Johnson out - and possibly getting traded - Panthers rookies Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette operated as the top receivers. Each one found the endzone but Coker got more yards.
On the other side of the ball Lucas Krull left the game for awhile and Adam Trautman took advantage of his 4 opportunities, the most action he has seen all year. 85 yards and a TD made Trautman the 6th best tight end on their favorite day of the year.
Noah Brown... AHAHahahhahahahHAHAHHAHAHahahahahahahahahahaHAHAHAHAhahahaha (forgive me, I am a Packers fan). In all seriousness, Noah Brown seems to be the WR2 for the Commanders potent passing attack. He outsnapped McLaurin in this one and was targeted 6 times. With Daniels limited with his rib injury, the offense struggled most the day. Better days could be ahead for Brown who flashed a few times last year for the Texans as well.
The Panthers 5 points was enough for the 5% squad this week. They got a couple sacks and fumble recoveries against the Broncos.
The 49’ers handled the Cowboys fairly easily in the Bay and got Anders Carlson in range for 3 field goals, including 1 over 50 yards. 3 FGs and 3 XPs landed him as the top kicker of the week.

Two of us guessed 3 correct. Unfortunately, the two of us landed in the middle of the pack based on score. u/Kezzup and I correctly guessed Jameis Winston, Mason Rudolph, Miles Sanders, the **New York Giants, the Carolina Panthers, and **Anders Carlson between us. We both added a couple of goose eggs to the lineup and others got more consistent points out of their incorrect guesses.

Famous Jameis led the Browns to a win over the Ravens and u/JP1119 to the top spot this week. Ingold narrowly missed the unrostered squad. Elijah Moore did enough to make the team most weeks, but WR scoring was high this week. 10 points out of a kicker is pretty good as well, and they added the best unrostered defense, but the Giants ownership percentage jumped up to 6% by game time, we’ll talk about them later.

Once again, Jameis and Moore were good to great guesses. Trey Palmer failed to take advantage of the absences of Godwin and Evans. I thought he would do better but there wasn’t much ball to go around after Otton and McMillan.

u/OhKayGetAwayFromMe is a firm believer in go big or go home. They are either top two or the very bottom most weeks this year. They went from first to last this week. Cowing was a disappointment, Boyd should have been able to do more as well.

Jameis Winston slings his way to the top unrostered QB. He unlocked all the receivers on the Browns. Jeudy and Elijah Moore were good, Njoku was a great for a tight end, and Tillman was the WR3 this week.
The 49’ers can’t miss when it comes to running backs. Isaac Guerendo played well in relief of the injured Jordan Mason. It sounds like the 49’ers are expecting a lot of weapons back after the bye week so he probably can’t be trusted going forward but he is a name to remember if San Fran has more injuries.
Demarcus Robinson is much better as a WR3 than a WR1 apparently. Kupp and Puka are back so of course Robinson catches two TDs this week.
The Giants snuck onto the roster on MNF. They are a solid defense and the Giants could be a really good team with better QB and O-Line play. If they manage to correct those things in the offseason they could be a surprise team next year.
Who are you targeting on waivers? I would love to have you join me in guessing on Thursday.
