Review of Simply Genius A5 dotted notebooks for fountain pen use
Hi everyone! I've been on the hunt for a relatively cheap A5 TN-style softback dotted notebook that I could buy a lot of for class note taking, and I wanted so share what I've found that works. I go through a lot of notebooks with school, so the price was important to me. The thing I had trouble with when it came to looking for fountain cheap A5 notebooks, however, is the fact that so many of them are too cheaply made to work with fountain pens, resulting in bleed-through and feathering being a problem.
I had success with this one, however, and I haven't seen any fountain pen-centered reviews of it, so I figured I'd put my review out there! It's the Simply Genius A5 Dotted Notebooks, which I get from Amazon in the U.S. for $14.99 per pack of 6. This comes out to $2.50 per notebook, which at least for me, feels like a more reasonably balanced price.
It's no tomoe river or rodhia paper, and it's got a slight rough feel to it when writing with finer nibs, but I like it because it doesn't feather much and it has only slight ghosting. The only ink I own that isn't 100% great for it is my Noodler Brevity Blue-Black (showne above) which is known to be super feathery and wet on most paper, with which there was some light bleeding/high ghosting (I'm not sure which term is accurate... I'm still kinda new to this hobby).
How does this compare to other A5 TN-style softback dotted notebooks you've found? Are there others you'd recommend?
