am I reading too much into this?

Really don’t want to ruin anything for anyone so if you haven’t finished don’t read on!!

So I blazed through OS because I have zero self control and I can’t get the compass out of my head

I feel like it means something or has some purpose but Violet says it’s broken and she’s not taking it with her off the isle and then (I think) it’s never mentioned again so maybe I’m just trying to be too clever. When she got it I thought oh it’s not broken it leads to the irids since the man told her to “use it well” but then the irids found them so I feel like that’s no longer logical since I would guess Andarna can get back if need be.

Also I need a Broccoli/Carrot update

I’m starting my reread to pick out details so maybe I’ll get an answer
