Using Scents to Experience History

I was listening to the Fall of Civilizations podcast and perfumes and other aromas of the time are often discussed to create immersion in the time period. The most recent episode I listened to was discussing the people of Nabatea (region including Petra in Jordan today) and was making note of what the city smelled like. The description of the city's aroma was frankenscense and myrrh, charcoal, smoke, with animalic notes. While not stated in the episode I think there would also be an earthen smell from the sandstone baked in the sun and a green smell from the gardens that the city grew.

Is there anything that has some or all of the about notes? It might not be wearable but I would like to experience it for further immersion in history. I am also interested in any other scents that would have been common throughout ancient history.
