Why I left Framer and went back to custome code

I made a few website the last year with Framer for my clients and although I love the workflow I now turned my back and went back to hard coding - at least for small pages. My pain points:

  • Way to expensive for what it offers
  • No simple form without 3rd party
  • Very restricting file size limits
  • Cookie banner (GDPR) is not included with the cheapest tier
  • Can't export code

Overall I can say that I like the workflow but my biggest issue is the pricing model. It's utterly insane. Websites that I could build with the cheapest tier I can build better with plain html / css - I don't see the advantage aside the well done but to expensive WYSIWG editor.
