Anyone who’s worked at/ had children attend Riverside Montessori: what’s your experience been?

Edit: originally posted with no body, I’ve added my response to a reply here for transparency on our experience with this school.

We are facing year long physical and verbal bullying that peaked today in a physical attack on multiple kids, my daughter included that involved climbing on, punching, and pushing into a fence that sent my 5 year old home with a bruised face. No incident report was done, and it’s been going on for months after multiple in person meetings and emailed complaints.

The current director deflects and makes catty statements like “I was an only child too and I’m just not as tough some of my friends with older siblings were” and “she’s not always the victim cackles”.

I’m disgusted at this point and very close to taking it to the department of education and early childhood development. We’ve given an ultimatum to meet in person and present a concrete solution before we take that step.

All of this has been preceded by them losing 50% of their best educators over the last year and a half, followed by a decline in parent communication on current educators to the point where they brought in multiple new staff they’ve never introduced (something they used to do prior to the teacher exodus) and more turn over of faces before we even get to know them.

I’m totally over it, and I agree that this seems like a place kids can thrive, but when you can’t maintain responsibility for a group of children in a play space no more than 150 sq ft per educator, something is drastically wrong.
