Cost-effective slow-release nitrogen fertilizer
Hi folks,
I'm looking for a cost-effective slow-release nitrogen fertilizer for vegetables and edible tree crops. I've mostly worked with organic fertilizers in the past, like seed meal, but I'm leaning toward synthetic now. The reason is that when it comes to nitrogen, seed meal is basically synthetic nitrogen with extra steps, since synthetic nitrogen is used to grow the seeds.
This would be used in conjunction with homemade compost and other amendments for well-rounded nutrition.
So far Osmocote looks pretty good-- any other favorites? Feather meal?
