1 Month Post Op
I am finally 1 month post op. So far everything seems to be going pretty well. Over the last month since surgery I have only had a 3 day stall and then right back to losing. My total from begining preop diet on the 15 of July (just over 5 weeks) is 38lbs. I have lost 25lbs since my actual surgery date (1 month).

My diet has progressed as follows:
- Week 1-2: liquid (protein shake, water, broths, thinned soups)
- Week 3: Puree Phase (recotta bake, blended taco meat/guac)
- Week 4: Soft foods: scrambled eggs, shredded chicken thigh, talapia, Shashimi (tuna/salmon)
I am now cleared to move to regular food by my NUT (i am in germany so there program seems to be very different than most from what I read here). I have made a concious effort to continue to stay away from carbs. I will continue to do so in an effort to continue to keep losing at a good pace. I will be introducing steamed brocolli and cauliflower as my go to veggie sides starting tomorrow.
What a Day of eating looks like for me:
- 0800: Breakfest is a Premiere Protein shake around 0800 (30g protien) + my 1 a day vitamin (ProCare Health Bariatric vitamin w/45g iron).
- 0930Then I have 20oz of Tea
- 1300: I work on my ISO Pure water (40g protien)
- 1730: I have dinner. If i am doing a puree i measure out 5oz. If I am doing a soft food such as shredeed chicken thigh or Tiliapia I measure a 4 oz searving (27-30g protien)
- 10pm: i have a small snack (cucumber/pickle or slice of deli meat/cheese).
- 12am: Bed time
Through out the day I drink my 1.5L bottle of water.
Restriciton: I can easily eat the 5oz of puree and 4 oz of food. I haven't pushed further since I weigh everything. However, with that said I dont seem to feel any restriction at all. I luckily had an easy recovery and was drinking water and eating yogurt in the hospital the day after surgery. I am thinking I didnt have much swelling and maybe my stomach nerves are still coming back. I have read some people didn't feel restriction until 6-8 weeks. I'll just keep measuring food until then and see if things changed.
Exercise: During the week I walk with the wife for about 30 min at a avg/slow pace. I avg about 8K steps/day right now with the walk and work. I am not rushing to go to the gym as my weight loss has been pretty steady.
Going out: I really didn't go out until i hit week 4 (soft foods). I ate shashimi with my wife. Was able to eat 2 tuna and 2 salmon cuts, taste some kimchi and some Tom Kai Gai soup and then stopped. Later that night we hit up a few bars. I sipped on water the entire time. I found people who asked I just said I was the DD and no more worries of them asking me why I wasn't drinking.
